The truth is out there (somewhere)….

by Sep 18, 2010

How much time in your week is spent being bombarded by promises of good health, good looks or just plain goodness? If you could have a dollar for every wasted hour you've followed some guru's advice on what to eat, what supplements to take, what miracle food is now de riguer – only to find the next week it has been touted as the next deadly cause of cancer, you'd be very rich indeed!

If this sounds like you, then Smart Healthy Women is here to serve you. Let's cut through all the BS out there in the marketing world and really use our heads to sift and sort out what works and what is just plain annoying and timewasting to improve our health, our happiness and our finances.

For example, all my life I have been told that coffee is bad for me, chocolate is bad for me, red wine is bad for me. So I have tried to abstain (and failed badly) while beating myself over the head for my weakness all those years. Now I read that coffee is good for the liver, and chocolate and red wine are so choc full of antioxidants that they rival even fresh vegetables for the health benefits they bestow.

I would dearly love to believe this, but because of all the conflicting advice, opinions, studies, and other various forms of persuasion I have been subjected to over the years, I am somewhat sceptical – in fact – I'm downright confused!

What is the truth?
