What’s for Breakfast?
It is generally agreed among those who advocate healthy eating that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
And yet we often don't want to eat stodgy carbs or may not be in the mood for a huge protein hit on waking. And sometimes you just don't have the time to prepare a full breakfast.
For those times when you just want something light and really healthy for breakfast, then these no-nonsense and really simple recipes will have you set up for the day with heaps of energy while feeling you are loving your body by feeding it healthy, nutritious and yummy food!
Make the Organic Berry FroYo to have on hand to whip up the Super Charged Morning Breakfast Smoothie!
Organic Berry FroYo
Ingredients
500gm organic natural yoghurt
2 tbsp organic honey
100gm organic frozen berries
Method:
Place all items in a blender and blend until smooth. Place in ice cream maker and freeze. If you don’t have an ice cream maker pour into a pre frozen bowl and place in freezer. stir mixture every half hour for about three hours and leave to freeze.
Remove from freezer about half an hour before you wish to use it. You can then place in a piping bag and pipe it out like a soft serve or just spoon it out iinto a bowl and tuck in!
Tip: Obviously you can use fresh berries if in season.
Super Charged Morning Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients
1 cup of organic berry froyo
½ cup of organic rice milk
½ cup of blueberries
¼ cup of almonds
1 scoop of spirulina powder
1 tbsp chia seeds
Method:
Blend all items together and drink for a super charged and delicious start to the day
Tip: If you have run out of your organic berry froyo use 1 cup of organic plain yoghurt and ½ cup of organic frozen berries
