A Positive Focus

by Dec 16, 2014

As I'm writing this I'm lying in bed and my mind is racing 100mph.

My Social media feeds today have been a crazy non stop display of hatred, morbid stories and pointing at all that is wrong with our planet.

It gets painful sometimes right?

I'm a spiritual lady I remain quite peaceful within myself and usually I manage to bring awareness to the front of my mind and feel tranquility gently freeing me from my thoughts.

“Thoughts become feelings”

Say that out loud…

“Thoughts become feelings”

Then apply that to your current mindset- we NEED to become more conscious of what we allow into our lives. Reading the abundance of unsettling stories of terrorism, hatred, conspiracies etc etc on our screens will consciously (and unconsciously) trigger thoughts of dread- “what if”

“I wish this wouldn't happen”

“I wonder if…”

With those thoughts a feeling becomes attached to this- let's use fear as an example – feeling frightened is horrible.

Thing is – before you read the article or saw the picture that caused this speed of light process of thought- feeling- emotion- mood- spiralling…

You were okay right? Yes, horrible things happen in this world, but you know what? So do wonderful, breathtakingly beautiful things.

Surround yourself with these things.

Reprogram your thought patterns and save yourself unnecessary pain.

Appreciate smiling at a stranger.

Letting someone have your seat on the bus, holding the door open for someone….

Appreciate the real things that you have control over and keep your smile.

It's important to keep a positive focus. We all deserve this.

Quit Feeling Obligated to Follow Opinions Over Counsel

Why do we feel so obligated? We are all guilty of letting the opinions of others influence how we feel. We are also all guilty of letting certain people in our life breathe influence over our souls even when we know they are not on our same frequency. Is it because we...

I Can’t Breathe

I've been silent for a reason. I needed some time to process my anger and pain. Those who are close to me know that I've been dealing with a daughter who feels helpless. She sent me a text a few days ago that she couldn't stop crying. I've been processing this with my...
