Words are an expression of the soul. And the condition of our soul is very likely to have an enormous impact on the water that composes as much as 70 per cent of our body, and this impact will in no small way affect our bodies. People who are in good health are also generally in good spirits. Indeed, a healthy spirit most comfortably resides in a healthy body. – Masaru Emoto in The Hidden Messages in Water
Loving your body and yourself is more about the thoughts you hold than the quality of food you eat and how physically fit you are. Eating healthy and working out are important, but your mind can deteriorate your body or promote health with more power than diet and exercise put together. We all know by now that our thoughts create our reality, but how good we are at using those mental muscles to control our thoughts is another story.
For many of us, it’s easier to believe that we’re not good enough, beautiful enough, smart enough, or something else, than it is to believe that anything is possible and that, literally, if you can see it you can achieve it. These negative messages are like words in our minds with the same effect on our brain and physiology as if they were written or spoken, and with even more impact since they come from the self. The result is a debilitating effect on spiritual wellness, and too often, rather than taking action toward what we want, we linger in the self-limiting chasm.
We stay trapped, rather than clawing our way out as if our very lives depend on it.
Dr. Emoto’s experiments with water have been documented in books since the mid-90’s and read by millions. He literally demonstrated with water, a freezer and a camera that words have a dramatic impact. Water that received the message “love and gratitude” produced the most beautiful near perfectly formed crystals while the word “fool” produced incomplete, deformed crystals. The words had a huge impact regardless of the language in which they were written or spoken. The words translated into a vibration that changed the very health of the water and resulting ice crystals.
We are largely made up of water. And physicists have proven that we are energy, and that energy can never be destroyed. It circulates the earth and the cosmos through humans just as water circulates the earth and through humans. The messages you tell yourself change your vibration with an impact on well-being unrivaled by nutrition and fitness.
You don’t have to just accept this or believe it because it is written. Try the following experiment for yourself for at least 7 days. Document the resulting feelings, energy and opportunities that presented themselves to you throughout the day.
The Change Your Crystals Experiment:
Day 1, Morning: Gaze at your reflection in the mirror. Notice your thoughts about yourself. Write them down. If any of the thoughts, which are messages to you, are even slightly negative, document that. Those will be the messages we will change. Below are some examples.
Replace: My nose is too big with “I love you”.
Replace: I wish I could lose more weight with “I am grateful for me and the gifts that I have to share with the world”.
Replace: Not good enough with “I am perfectly given what I need to fulfill my purpose. Opportunities to do so are presenting themselves to me now”.
Replace: Thoughts about your problems with “I see only opportunities and I embrace them ”.
Even if you don’t believe it on day 1 of your experiment, keep telling yourself the positive messages.
[Tweet “Tell yourself you are gorgeous even if you don’t believe it. Tell yourself that you ARE love.”]
On day 2, do it again. And day 3 and so on. It takes practice. Don’t give up. You are worth it. Hug yourself.
Most of us have at least one message that is negative about ourselves. Some of us might have an easier time finding a needle in the proverbial haystack than to come up with a single message that is positive about ourselves. And while you may genuinely want to lose weight, change to a healthier diet, or something else, it is important to change the messages you tell yourself first. This positive change at the cellular energy level will pave the way to achieving the physical results you want easier and faster.
Expand the experiment to an observational data study. Look at the people around you that you know. Think about 5-10 people with whom you are acquainted well enough to know their messages to themselves. As you think about each person in turn, ask yourself if the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical health of the person matches the messages they tell themselves. Do you know anyone who eats a nutritious diet of food and maintains a good fitness regimen but still seems to experience health problems of one kind or another including chronic illnesses? The key may lie in the messages. Encourage anyone that you think can benefit from the experiment to try it for themselves.
The key is persistence. Add positive notes to your environment to remind yourself about the messages you want. My coffee cup, for example, one of the first things I see in the morning, says “Hello Gorgeous”. In time and with practice you will become a stellar guardian of your messages. You are worth it. Change your mind, change your crystals!
The root of all health is in the brain. The trunk of it is in emotion. The branches and leaves are the body. The flower of health blooms when all parts work together. ~Kurdish Saying
