3 Distinctive Summer Bridal Trends
Are you having trouble finding beauty inspiration for your big day? If so, look no further than these 3 gorgeous looks and get ready to feel amazing on your wedding day!
Sun-kissed
A bronze glow will always look gorgeous – on your wedding day or otherwise. If you really want to enhance the tone of your skin a false tan is highly recommendable. Whether you choose to get this done in a salon or do it DIY style, a fake tan will build the perfect base for your makeup.
When it comes to make up, subtle shimmer is the way to go. You should opt for products that are highly pigmented so they show up in your photos but avoid makeup that is overly shimmery and iridescent. This will prevent you from appearing too unnatural and overly done on your wedding day.
Tones of bronze and gold suit pretty much any eye colour but for blue or green eyes, gold will work particularly well. A dusting of bronzer below the cheekbones and a dab of highlighter applied above them will enhance your bone structure, meaning that you can go easy on the blusher.
Rim your eyes with intense black eyeliner and lead it out to just beyond the outer corners of the eyes. This will create a slightly smokey look to your eyes while keeping that ‘just stepped out of the sun’ effect.
Au natural
There’s nothing more youthful looking than a fresh face with minimal makeup. Unfortunately we were not all blessed with supermodel skin but it does not mean we can’t fake it!
Good skin really is essential to this look so start by thoroughly cleansing and moisturising your skin before applying makeup. Follow with applying a primer to the whole face. If you want to fake a natural glow on the skin also, a primer with slight shine will work brilliantly. Then apply a foundation with a light coverage or a tinted moisturiser to prevent your makeup from looking heavy.
If you would like more coverage in certain areas, you can always top these up with a dab of concealer. Finish with a dusting of translucent powder, brown mascara and a nude or pink toned lip gloss to complete the look.
Vintage
Vintage styling is becoming increasingly popular and it’s no wonder when glamour and femininity are its two main components. Vintage inspired hair and makeup might take a little longer to do but it will certainly be worth the wait when it’s done. This style of makeup however will look particularly good with a quirky or coloured wedding dress. Prep the face with a generous amount of foundation as it is the eyes and the lips that you really want to stand out with this look. Choose a quality lip liner to trace the lips before painting and blot the colour between applications to keep it lasting through the hundreds of wedding photos and best man wedding speeches.
Keep your eye shadow neutral and line the upper lash line with a flick at the outer corners. Finish with a strong pink shade of blusher to give you that doll-face affect.
