If it becomes clogged with trash, it will run like mud, all sludgy and slow. This is why our bodies feel slow, lacklustre and get sick. Our river, our blood flow, should run swift and fast, it is how we are designed. Shortly after eating fatty foods, your blood becomes thick, like a river filled with rubbish. It takes four to five hours for the river to cope with all the trash and flow again. However, during the trash hours, damage is occurring to the lining of all the blood vessels, leading you down a pathway to dis-ease. Fatty foods are not ‘clean’ foods, and most take away, packaged and processed foods are fatty foods. tips to booby trap your way to good health7Have a fully stocked pantry – Tins of tomatoes, beans, legumes and salsas allow you to prepare a nutritious meal in under 10 minutes. You can turn these ingredients into tacos, one-pot beans, shepherds pie or lentil Bolognese in the blink of an eye. Keep packets of rice, rice noodles, quinoa and buckwheat pasta noodles in the pantry, and you have all the accompaniments you need for any meal. Spices. Everything to create Italian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or Thai flavours. Keep various milks in the pantry, coconut, rice or almond milk – to make things from both savoury and sweet. Dried fruits and nuts – making all sorts of sauces and desserts. Sauces and condiments to flavour a pasta sauce or lentil dish. Potatoes. A staple – it makes a very nutritious full meal all by itself. Take a spud, a can of lentils, add a few spices and herbs and some sauce and within minutes you have a fabulous dish.
