Spice is Nice!
Sometimes we all need a little something to warm us up and get us in the mood for love. Aphrodisiacs have been used for millennia to spice up our love lives, and yet sometimes in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we forget that it is our attention to rituals and the use of such simple aids as exotic spices with their evocative scents and special properties, that can be used to entice our senses and enhance our mood.
What better way to celebrate this Valentine's Day than to prepare some decidedly grown-up but no less delightfully special treats for the one you love.
Spiced Cocoa-delish Aphrodisiac Elixir
2 cups nut milk or organic cows milk
1 tiny pinch cayenne pepper
65g of certified organic dark chocolate (70%-85%)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp coconut flower nectar or agave syrup
1 pinch ground ginger
1 crushed cardamom pod
1 scant pinch celtic sea salt
Melt your chocolate over a double saucepan, or place in a heat proof bowl over gently simmering water.
Put the cayenne, milk and spices in a pan and heat very gently – do not let it boil.
Add the melted chocolate and coconut flower nectar and heat gently until just about boiling.
If you have a milk-frother, you may whisk the concoction before serving.
Warning: Don’t prepare unless you have the right company to share it with!
